Considering the latest Facebook experiments with AR and VR experiences, David Marcus, head of Facebook Financial, announced that the company is looking to get involved with non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Not that much time ago, the head of all payment-related activities at Facebook and Novi wallet, said that Facebook’s wallet with the Diem stablecoin is ready to come to market. For the moment, the official release date is not announced yet but he emphasized the importance of blockchain implementation into the payments solution within Facebook.
For those, who did not know, Novi is the Facebook recently developed wallet to support the Diem project based on blockchain, which is now officially pivoted to a U.S. dollar stablecoin.
Now Facebook is in a good position to get more involved in the NFT market with multiple features to be implemented.
When you have a good crypto wallet like Novi will be, you also have to think about how to help consumers support NFTs
Marcus said in a Bloomberg Television interview.
Apprising latest news about the launch of Horizon Workrooms, a metaverse where colleagues can interact, it’s not hard to guess that Facebook is actively looking to expand its business solutions beyond simply payment systems.
The CEO of the company, Mark Zuckerberg, has said that he wants Facebook to be known as a metaverse company as it will bring enormous opportunities to digital creators and those who want to work and own homes far from urban centers.
