Gucci announced a partnership with digital collectibles creator Superplastic.
The collaboration titled SUPERGUCCI, is set to release a limited collection of NFTs in 250 pieces on 1 February. The artworks combine Gucci’s iconic design motifs with symbols of SUPERPLASTIC which are perfectly merging together as a result of collaborative work between creative director Alessandro Michele and virtual artists Janky and Guggimon.
Coming in a three-part series, the first drop of only 10 NFT pieces will be sold with an exclusive white ceramic SUPERGUCCI SuperJanky sculpture.
While clear details of the brief-taking partnership have not yet been revealed, the digital realm of Gucci extends and we might expect further collaborations for the NFT collections.
For those unfamiliar, Superplastic is a co-creative project between two virtual figures – Janky and Guggimo, which previously has partnered with Fortnite, Gorillaz, and many more.
