Toni Maticevski has partnered with an international digital fashion house, The Fabricant, to create a fully digital experience at AfterPay Australian Fashion Week.
Created exclusively for Afterpay Australian Fashion Week, The Animator Overcoat is the first digital fashion experience giving Fashion Week attendees the exclusive chance to be digitally dressed with a unique piece of digital fashion.
Afterpay’s Digi_Couture together with pioneers in virtual fashion offered an experience that aims to unite everyone linked to fashion to explore a completely new world of creativity and self-expression. Guests could be photographed and then digitally dressed in the Animator Overcoat by expert designers to receive a shareable photo.
THE LIQUID AESTHETIC OF THE GARMENT EMBODIES FLUIDITY BETWEEN WORLDS, BUT ALSO BETWEEN GENDER, IDEAS OF MATERIALITY, BEAUTY AND HOSTILITY, THE POSSIBLE AND IMPOSSIBLE. IT OFFERS THE WEARER A CHANCE TO EXPRESS MULTIPLE CONCEPTS SIMULTANEOUSLY. ”

The Animator Overcoat is an exclusive animated design emphasizing nature elements into a digital reality. Inspired by the sea urchin, the garment brings together the physical and digital worlds, offering a chance to reveal the boundaries that we carry in everyday life.
“As our first time as title sponsor of Afterpay Australian Fashion Week, we wanted to create an innovative concept that was uniquely different from anything seen in Australia before and believe we have done this with the help of Toni Maticevski and The Fabricant.”
